Wrong Mouse Click gave Lara Croft Her Iconic Boobs
I just finished playing the excellent Xbox Live Arcade game Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. My only problem with the game is that it’s top down so you never really get to see Lara Croft’s iconic boobs bounce as she runs, jumps, shoots and rolls. A misstep I hope will be corrected with the upcoming Tomb Raider re-boot, but did you know that the size of Lara’s boobs and literal huge part of the character’s success came from a designers mistake?
Artist Toby Gard, one of the designers of Lara, was playing around with the dimensions of the character and accidentally increased Lara’s bosom by 150% instead of the intended 50%. The rest of the design team loved the new design and after high-fiving they presumably all had to go to the bathroom to relieve themselves.
They kept the bigger boobs and rest is pretty much history! Who, besides strippers and porn stars, would know that 150% bigger boobs would mean so much more fame and fortune? The more you know!

What makes me laugh are the people who say that ALL female videogame characters with big boobs were influenced by this, as though they would all be flat-chested if not for Lara.
Yeah, sure, it was an accident. The guy who did it had NO IDEA how good big tits looked. Neither did the developers. And the marketing team was just shocked, SHOCKED that a bunch of socially awkward and always horny teenaged guys would respond to a big titted video game character by buying up all the games in site.
BULLSHIT! It does make for a nice story though.
If you’re hoping to see giant, bouncing boobs in the Tomb Raider remake, you’re going to be very disappointed. They’re giving her a much more realistic character design this time around.

Will Ford be making cars with worse gas millage? Dryer’s making ice cream with less flavor? What’s the point?
