French Breast Enlargement Device From the 1930s!
These are vintage French ads from early to mid-20th century of devices that are promising breast-enlargement which is powered by water from your home sink!
The ad says: “BREAST FIRMING via fast, pressurized cold water affusion that showers the breast without getting wet, making the muscular fibers of the mammary glands contract, without touching the delicate tip. Easy to use, the water arrives under pressure through the metallic tube. A pleasurable and useful massage. For normal breasts. 125 Francs. The device is foldable for travel. Easily adaptable to all faucets.”
The adverts for breast enlargement devices date as far back as the early 1900s and are promoting the “ideal” cup. The models doesn’t change very much over the decades and the idea behind the devices was to stimulate blood circulation in the woman’s breasts with jets of cold water under pressure. A few minutes a day massaging this way would supposedly lead to miraculous results.
Did they work? Definitely not but at least the ladies got their breasts massaged!
